Certified PROFIBUS Installer

The Certified PROFIBUS Installer is an essential course for electrical engineers and technicians requiring skills in the installation and testing of complete PROFIBUS networks.

The participants will learn how to analyse, localise and solve a PROFIBUS problem. Theory about cabling, shielding, grounding, busparameters and measurement tools is the basis of this knowledge. With the help of practical exercises on real networks, the participants will put theory into practice.

At the end of the training, the participants are directly capable to maintain and solve issues in PROFIBUS installations. They will have a strong theoretical foundation and are able to handle the necessary measurement tools, like ProfiTrace.

Ready knowledge to solve independent faults

Because we have a duty to deliver, we can not afford to depend on third parties relating to maintenance and troubleshooting. Thanks to the training "PROFIBUS Troubleshooting & Maintenance" we now have ready knowledge and we can independently prevent and rectify errors.

Other Information

There are no prerequisites for joining the course, however it's recommended that the attendee has knowledge about the following:

  • Terminology which is common in the industrial automation (PLC, remote I/O, etc.).
  • Terminology which is common in electrical engineering (resistance, voltage, etc.).
  • Capable of working with at least Windows XP.

Other information

  • The participants will receive: a course book, USB-stick, writing materials and a certificate (after passing the exam).
  • It is allowed to install ProfiTrace on your laptop and use it during the practical sessions.
  • A lunch is included on all course days and the exam day.

The participants will work with first class tools to do their practical exercises; ProfiTrace, BT200 and striptool. With these tools the participants will learn how to install and test a PROFIBUS installation
