Certified PROFIBUS Installer

Register

The Certified PROFIBUS Installer course is essential for electrical engineers and technicians requiring the necessary installation and testing skills for their PROFIBUS DP/PA projects. These technicians are often the final link in a project and are essential both during commissioning and throughout the life cycle of the installation.

Why should you choose for this course?

Become a Certified PROFIBUS Installer Fast

PROFIBUS is a robust fieldbus. Nevertheless, many do not realize that it is a digital data communication system with its own specific guidelines. During the installation, problems are often a result of simple mistakes such as missing termination, the wrong cable being used, switched wires etc. This is why it is increasingly being demanded that only qualified installers carry out a project.

Once equipped with the knowledge of how to deal with a PROFIBUS network, you have the chance to meet these demands and to distinguish yourself from competitors who do not have certified installers. This will provide contractors with the assurance that the installation is being carried out by adept installers.

As a participant, you will learn how to analyze, localize and solve a PROFIBUS problem. Theory about cabling, shielding, grounding, bus parameters and measurement tools is the basis of this knowledge. With the help of practical exercises on real networks, the participants will put theory into practice.

The course takes two and a half days of practical sessions, theory, and half a day of exams. Upon successful completion, you will be directly capable of maintaining and solving issues in PROFIBUS installations. You will have a strong theoretical foundation and will be able to handle the necessary measurement tools, like ProfiTrace. You will be proud to hold the internationally recognized title of Certified PROFIBUS Installer.

Ready knowledge to solve independent faults

Because we have a duty to deliver, we can not afford to depend on third parties relating to maintenance and troubleshooting. Thanks to the training "PROFIBUS Troubleshooting & Maintenance" we now have ready knowledge and we can independently prevent and rectify errors.

Other Information

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for joining the course. We do, however, recommend that the attendee has knowledge of the following:

  • Terminology which is commonly used in industrial automation (PLC, remote I/O, etc.).
  • Terminology which is commonly used in electrical engineering (resistance, voltage, etc.).
  • Working with at least Windows 7.

More Information

  • You will work with first class tools to do the practical exercises; namely ProfiTrace Analyzer, BT200 and a strip tool. With these tools the participants will learn how to install and test a PROFIBUS installation according to the guidelines.
  • You will receive a course book, USB-stick, writing materials and a certificate (upon passing the exam).
  • We recommend installing ProfiTrace on your laptop and using it during the practical sessions.
  • A lunch is included on all course days and the exam day.
