Informative lectures and PROCENTEC Atlas demonstration at Botlek Study group event
21 September 2017
On Thursday evening 14 September 2017, PROCENTEC hosted the bimonthly networking meeting of the Botlek Study group. Despite the bad weather, which caused the second busiest evening commute in the Netherlands in 2017, more than thirty invited industry professionals made the effort and visited our Headquarters in Wateringen.
The Botlek Study group had invited three interesting experts from the field, who shared their knowledge around the central theme of 'Reliability of control and information systems' after a delicious dinner buffet.
- Paulo Silva (CTO PROCENTEC) started off with a presentation on the blind spot in uptime management. During this interactive lecture, it was mainly about failure to see network problems and how PROCENTEC solutions such as ComBricks and PROCENTEC Atlas could help to make a network more reliable.
- Paul Janssen (Gain Automation Technology) shared his knowledge about the reporting and reliability of management information. “Data is the new gold”, he said at the beginning of his lecture. But, he explained later, data is only worth a lot of money when people know how to handle it properly.
- Kirsten Schreibers (INTERGO) gave her expertise about human trust in imperfect automated systems. These systems can sometimes provide false alarms. Such alarms may cause irritation, but may also be effective, if taking care of constraints carefully.
During breaks in between the lectures, PROCENTEC experts explained the participants all about our latest solution, PROCENTEC Atlas. This diagnostic tool for Industrial Ethernet networks was met with great interest because of its powerful features such as the Topology and Q-Factor, that provide an easy insight in complex networks. The evening was concluded with a networking drink, where attendees were able to get in touch with other colleagues from the industry.
PROCENTEC and the Botlek Study group can both look back on a successful evening and have expressed their wish to organize this event again in Wateringen.
