19 May 2016

At the far end of the globe on Wednesday May 25, our Chief Technology Officer Paulo Silva and our Global Sales Manager Matthew Dulcey will join top experts in Sydney at the PROFIBUS & PROFINET Global Forum 2016. They will present their views on how Australia can improve its global standing during the transition towards Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things.

The PROFIBUS & PROFINET Global Forum 2016 centers around the important role that innovation plays in the mature industries which are the engine of Australia’s economy and national productivity: manufacturing, process and resources. These industries are the prime drivers of productivity-boosting innovation and contribute heavily to Australia’s external trade position.

Around the world, industries are transitioning towards Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things. These megatrends are double-edged swords. Countries and companies that are smart and bold enough to adopt these technologies will see their productivity leapfrog the competition. But those who fall behind will find it increasingly more difficult to maintain their competitive edge.

Despite the fact that implementing these technologies is paramount, companies face an imminent internal struggle between tight financial budgets and operational realities. This means that every investment must provide value to the bottom line, while simultaneously being operationally useful.

Paulo and Matthew will provide market feedback on balancing this tight rope, and will offer solutions to create the proper balance of both realities. During their presentations Paulo will present his views on network design and which tools can be used to make the network more reliable, while Matthew will focus on the ROI of diagnostic systems.

Want more insights? Both gentlemen will join top experts from around the world, plus a representative from the Commonwealth Government's Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, at the 2016 PROFIBUS & PROFINET Global Forum on the 25 May in Sydney.
